Above, waterfall design and standard features are the same. The difference is the design of the channel, inverting the standard channel, but it is universal. These inverted flared channels can be used for hygienic purposes. Because it is upside down, there will be no accumulation of food scraps or dust, reducing maintenance costs. Therefore, they are often used in food handling and require less cleaning.
U Channel
- Standard U-channel with waterfall
- Waterfall design with standard U-channel to fit common step beams
Wire mesh decking with u-channel supports offers double support because the beam has two points of contact. The channels themselves sit on the beam step-downs while the decking rests atop the beams. U-channels can widen your storage options by offering a higher weight capacity with more stability.

Whether it is channel or waterfall, the difference between U-channel and flare channel is that one head is U-shaped and the other is flat, and U-channel is more suitable for step beam, while flare channel is more general for box beam and step beam. The rest have the same characteristics
Flat flush
The flush fit wire mesh decks are designed with a flat flush edge where the end wire comes in contact with the inside of the step beam.
Since they don't hug the beams like waterfall decks do, they need to be fully secured with tek screws. Because the beam surface is unobstructed, they are often used to label products, and the beam surface for barcode labels remains clear, making them a popular choice for lower-level manual stacking and order picking applications. Great for storing smaller items that don't fit deep into the shelf.
Another benefit of flat flush is the lack of edges workers can cut hands or hook equipment on. Flat flushs are best for facilities where workers must pick products themselves. The deck provides the added safety of keeping metal components within the step beams.
The recessed nature of this type of deck means it fits neatly between the tops of the step beams on the racking system without any installation tools.
Multiple-beam Deck
